Etch A Sketch - gate

It is believed (by me) that the various Republican campaigns colluded to bring about an artificial increase in Ohio Art's stock.

Mitt Romney strategist Eric Fehrnstrom said that the Republican's campaign was like an Etch A Sketch: "You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again." Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum came in on cue and criticized Romney for being a flip-flopper. Santorum said he stands "firmly on rocks of freedom, not on the sands of an Etch A Sketch toy". Santorum is badly informed. The toy uses aluminum, not sand. (True. Include anything that shows the Republicans to be buffoons.)

Ohio Art's stock price tripled to $9.65 on Thursday largely because of the free publicity it got from the Republicans. Ohio-based Ohio Art's Etch A Sketch has been maunufactured in China since 2002. (Would like to include something about lead in Chinese-made toys here but I have a deadline.) Chairman Bill Killgallon said "We're proud that one of our products is shaking up the debate." (Cute.)

Investigators (well me anyway) are attempting to learn how heavily each candidate is invested in Ohio Art.
